Car-free route from Brookhurst Street to Nelson Street and 8th Street returns
Garden Grove, Calif.- The City's Re:Imagine Garden Grove Open Streets event returns on Saturday, April 2, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
This year, attendees can walk, bike, skate, scooter, or ride a 2.2-mile, car-free route from Brookhurst Street to Nelson Street and 8th Street. A number of activities are being planned for the free event.
New Attractions
Some of the new attractions this year include activities along the newly-dedicated Medal of Honor Bike and Pedestrian Trail, Lucha Libre entertainment, and Ferris wheel. The 2.2-mile route will also feature live music, food trucks, and free surrey bike rentals.
This year, the annual Re:Imagine Garden Grove Art in the Park program featuring the Garden Grove Unified School District's First Impressions Student Art Gallery will be showcased during the event.
Downtown
The Open Streets event is part of the City's continuing efforts to highlight Garden Grove's Downtown, while promoting the Re:Imagine Garden Grove mission of bringing more art to the community, create more walkable areas of the city, and encourage people to live a healthier, more connected life.
Additional programming, including live entertainment, demonstrations, and activities will be announced in the weeks to follow.
