iHUB seeks entrepreneurial startups
Palm Desert, Calif.- The City of Palm Desert recently celebrated the grand opening of the Palm Desert iHUB, a technology-focused business incubator Valley Economic Partnership (CVEP) and the California State University of San Bernardino Palm Desert Campus (CSUSB). Through these partnerships, the iHUB is poised to make a positive long-term impact on the economy of the Coachella Valley.
The iHUB was designed to attract technology-based entrepreneurial startup businesses, to promote the creation of high wage-earning jobs, and to house CSUSB's cybersecurity, entrepreneurship, and hospitality programs.
Day-to-day operations at the iHUB are managed by CVEP, the Coachella Valley's regional economic development organization. CVEP is also responsible for selecting businesses to incubate in the space and mentoring them throughout their tenure at the iHUB. Along with mentorship and an office or space to work in, iHUB businesses are offered an opportunity to work with the CSUSB students as it aligns with their business.
Location
The iHUB is located across the street from the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus at 37023 Cook Street, Suite 102.
Optic Fiber Network
This proximity allows it access to the university's CENIC optical fiber network that can be configured to operate at bandwidths up to 100Gbps. This bandwidth speed will allow incubating businesses to develop products or conduct research at a faster speed than is available elsewhere within the city.
The iHUB is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information on how to become an iHUB business, visit CVEP's iHUB application page at cvep.com/apply-to-ihub-incubator, or call (760) 898-0489.
